Davey doesn’t know the rules
Nan says put the milk out before bed and don’t watch for the bird. So I put it on the wall by the blue door and I don’t watch.
In the morning the saucer’s empty and I bring it in. That’s my job. Mum buys the milk. Nan tells me the rule. I’m the one who does it.
I asked Nan where the bird goes after. She was peeling something and she didn’t stop peeling. She said never you mind, love, and put the saucer out tonight same as always.
So I will. It’s just the saucer. I’m good at it.
